Use Reference Materials to Ground Your Content

Reference materials are real data, statistics, case studies, and examples that anchor your content in truth.

Use Reference Materials to Ground Your Content — Brande.ai

When you add reference materials, Brande.ai weaves them into content generation—replacing vague claims with specific evidence.

What Reference Materials Are

Reference materials are fact-based inputs that make your content more credible and specific.

Examples:

  • Statistics: "45% of founders cite cash flow as their top pain point"
  • Case studies: "ABC Corp reduced onboarding time by 60% using our platform"
  • Customer data: "Our customers are 70% based in the US, 30% in Europe"
  • Product details: "Our tool integrates with Stripe, HubSpot, and Zapier"
  • Market data: "The fractional CFO market is growing 20% YoY"
  • Testimonials: "Our product helped us scale from 10 to 50 customers in 6 months"

When Brande.ai creates content about your offering, it references these materials instead of generating generic claims.

How to Add Reference Materials Effectively

Be specific, not generic

Weak:

"Our customers love our product and see great results"

Strong:

"78% of our customers report increased engagement within 30 days. Average content creation time dropped from 5 hours to 2 hours per project."

Include the source

If citing statistics or research, note the source.

Good format:

"45% of marketing teams report content planning as their biggest bottleneck (HubSpot State of Marketing 2024)"

Keep materials current

Update reference materials quarterly.

If a case study is outdated or a statistic is older than a year, refresh it.

Brande.ai will incorporate current data, not legacy claims.

Organize by category

Label materials clearly so you (and Brande.ai) know what they're for.

Example labels:

  • "Customer Success: Time Saved"
  • "Product Feature: AI Integration"
  • "Market Trend: Content Demand"
  • "Testimonial: CEO Quote"
  • "Competitive Positioning: Speed vs Agencies"

Add 5–10 materials minimum

One reference material is almost useless.

Aim for 5–10 across different categories (customer data, product details, market trends, testimonials).

This gives Brande.ai enough truth to work with.

How Reference Materials Affect Content

When you create content, Brande.ai references these materials in its output.

Example: You create a LinkedIn post using a Content Agent recommendation

Without reference materials:

"Join thousands of marketers who are scaling their content production. Our platform helps teams work faster and smarter."

With reference materials:

"78% of marketing teams report content planning as their biggest bottleneck. We help teams reduce content creation time from 5 hours to 2 hours per project. See how ABC Corp achieved this in 6 months."

Specificity drives engagement and conversion.

The more quality reference materials you provide, the more powerful your content becomes.
